IMGuide PLAB 1 Anki Deck

3,340 flashcards for PLAB 1 and the UKMLA AKT, written for UK practice and checked against current UK guidance (October 2026).

Built by an IMG for IMGs, and useful to anyone sitting the UKMLA. Every card comes from IMGuide’s own revision notes, written in our own words, and the back of each card tells you which UK guideline it follows.

What you get

  • 2,760 notes (3,340 cards) in 26 subdecks: every PLAB 1 specialty, plus Presentations, Orthopaedics and Ethics & Law
  • 2,197 notes tagged high-yield, so you can do the must-knows first
  • A Presentations subdeck (241 cards) that starts from the symptom, the way PLAB question stems do: chest pain, breathlessness, the sick child, jaundice and more
  • 17 original ECG and blood-film figures, drawn for the deck from the diagnostic criteria. They are illustrations, not patient recordings
  • The source on every card. The back names the topic and, for 1,662 notes, the UK guideline it follows: NICE, the BNF, Resuscitation Council UK, JBDS and others
  • Up to date. Recent changes are included: NICE’s 2025 sepsis guidelines (NG253–NG255), the suspected cancer pathway and 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard, and FIT-led colorectal referral
  • Clean design. Custom card styles with built-in fonts (Inter and Source Serif 4), so cards look the same on a laptop, a phone and AnkiWeb, with a night mode

How to use it

  1. Open the .apkg file with Anki (Windows, Mac or Linux), AnkiDroid or AnkiMobile. It appears as IMGuide PLAB 1.
  2. Study about 25 new cards a day. At that pace you finish the deck in roughly four and a half months.
  3. Turn on bury siblings, so cloze cards from the same fact don’t show on the same day.
  4. Filter with the tags:
    • IMGuide_PLAB::Cardiology (and so on): a specialty, then a topic
    • IMGuide_PLAB::Yield::High: the must-know topics
    • IMGuide_PLAB::Type::Figure: the ECG and blood-film cards

When a new edition comes out, importing it updates your existing cards instead of adding duplicates, and keeps your review progress.
