Before you buy

You should already be comfortable with kana and have a solid upper-intermediate Japanese foundation. Anki software is installed or purchased separately. These are reveal-and-rate flashcards, not automatically graded spelling tests; more than one Japanese word can fit an English cue.

Recordings are for vocabulary words, not example-sentence narration. Some entries have no recording, and a multi-reading entry may include audio for only one reading. Audio can play automatically; you can turn off automatic playback in Anki’s deck options. Pitch numbers are retained as reference notes, not as an independently verified pitch-accent course.
